Christian Lindberg

Christian Lindberg

Smetana Hall in Municipal House,

With hundreds of brilliant recordings and world premieres under his belt, including those featuring his own compositions, Christian Lindberg has picked up a whole host of awards in recent years. The last of these was the “International Classical Music Award 2016” at Gala Ceremony in the Spanish city of San Sebastian, the year before “The Greatest Brass Player In History” from the prestigious radio station CLASSIC FM.

Not only a trombone virtuoso, but also a conductor, this Swedish talent is a living legend, regarded among the very best 20th century brass artists alongside Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. An international trombone solo competition created in his name takes place each year with collaboration from elite international ensembles and artists.

The last time he performed in Prague was in autumn 2016 and all those lucky enough to be there certainly won’t want to miss out on the chance to see him again. He will be performing his new programme both as a trombonist and conductor along with none other than the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. What a treat to look forward to!
