The organisers and Czech National Symphony Orchestra dramaturges most certainly made an excellent choice by picking this amazing project. In an attempt to help young and promising musicians displaying exceptional talent and determination, it will allow them to take carry out solo projects, as a rule, chosen by them and using their own ideas. All those listed have successfully collaborated with our agency and KALKANT is just a logical continuation of this. (Kalkant is derived from the Latin word calcere – to pedal, the person using bellows to blow air into the organ, usually by stepping on the appropriate lever.)

The role of the Kalkant has played a key role producing the tones of the organ without an electric power source across centuries. And little needs to be said of the metaphor it represents – sometimes we all have to step on it.
